Hmm, only did that maybe once, but atleast in the STi you can turn the headlamps so they are aimed very very low. I could imagine the SVX would be a slice of hell.

So yah sounds like need to keep a pair of fresh stock bulbs in the glovebox if you live in the snow states. I'd ah, advise keeping one in the car anyway since you should be removing working bulbs to convert. Seems like atleast twice I've thrown the old working but dim bulb I am replacing in a safe spot in the car... and then replacing the new bulb in the middle of nowhere a few months later as I win the crappy bulb lotto on the new one.

These lights look awesome! I can't wait to try them out in the dark. I'll try to get some pics up tonight.
I ended up mounting the ballast right behind the front bumper - just below the light. With the headlight assembly out it was a great place to put them - I didn't have to remove the fenderliner for access to mount them there.

Thanks again!

Precisely what I was thinking... I wouldn't even consider re-wiring anything in a white out that is apparently at night (since you need the lights in the first place)

Please show us some pictures of where you mounted the ballast. That sounds like a good place that would be better than having to remove the fenderliner.

^^^What Earl said. While I'm waiting for Tom and Diana to get the next shipment and send mine out, I'd like to figure out the best/easiest spot to mount these.

Oh, and 'subaru' is in for a set of 5000K's, as soon as we figure out the best way to get them to the Netherlands. He contacted us weeks ago, so I may have to bump the list down from #11 and stick him in there. Sorry to everyone from #11 down.

On the driver side there was already a hole there to use, on the passenger side I drilled a hole in the same location. Drove the 1/2 hour home - about half of it in stop and go traffic and it is 99 degrees here and they did not overheat.

The ride to work this morning was amazing. These lights are great and the projector focuses them very well. I did not get high beamed at all. The amount of useable light is awesome. If I am not too lazy tonight I'll get some pics.

I beg to disagree. It only takes about 2-3 minutes per side to take out a couple of bolts and peel back the fender liner. There is a lot of room to work and plenty of mounting space to allow for protection from the elements and good air circulation.

If your lights are already out, thats fine. Otherwise you have to take out the grille, then the front turn signals so that you can undo the 4 bolts that hold on each headlight assembly. All of this takes quite a bit longer.

Plus I like the fact that I can attach the snap-in mounting brackets directly to the fenders, instead of direct-mounting the ballasts themselves. Makes accessing them easier if removal is necessary.

Will post photos as soon as I can upload them
