Thumbs up BRR Event #11 10/21/07 Verona, VA

Completed BRR event #11 today. Ran against my fellow region member and current DS Pro Solo champ Justin Rest as well as his co-driver Pete Johnson. To quote Justin from our conversation afterwards -- he brought out the ringer!! Seriosuly, he was using 20 run Hoosier A6's (i.e almost brand new) on his well-prepped DS car.

Did my best to keep pace with him and Pete, but unfortunately, couldn't quite get a run down that I was 'pleased' with... My first run had two cones; on my second I went off-course by going into the turn around too hot; on my third run I had a solid time but clipped one cone -- so I had to try to get a good run in on my 4th and final run, while making sure that I ran CLEAN. Got a decent time down but left at least 1 second out there...maybe more. While I finished 3rd in class, I had the 12th fastest Raw Time of the day and the 5th fastest PAX (Justin took FTP, while Pete was 3rd in PAX -- how's that for a stacked class?!)

Final results are below - Justin told me afterwards that I drove well, I'm just giving up too much by not having a fully-prepped ride:

DS - D Stock Pax: 0.804 Time Diff Pax
1t JUSTIN REST 06 SUBARU WRX BLACK 51.182 FTP 41.150 0.000
2 PETE JOHNSON 06 SUBARU WRX BLACK 51.465 0.283 41.378 0.228
3 CHIKE DELLIMORE 06 SUBARU WRX GRAY 52.819 1.637 42.467 1.31
Link to Results

Summary:
3rd out of 3 in DS
5th out of 63 in PAX

Pictures from the event:

Yours truly-

Justin's DS WRX-

Anthony's DSP Neon-

Ray's GS Mini Cooper S-

Steve's AS Sky Redline-

P.S. Next event is the South East Division Championship in Atlanta on November 3rd - 4th!

Naaa,, NEXT event is the 'Pumpkin Carve' in Cumberland!!!!

All that other stuff is too much driving!

I promise NOT to burn the burgers and you can see the guys and gals from the network. Isn't that more fun than driving a long way to see a bunch of strangers??????

There will be a lot of fast Subis to compete with.

YA,ALL come!!!

Thanks for the invite Jerry - but I have to pass. Too much on the honey-do list which I've been putting off for too long...

The mark won't be a sugar coating though. Why aren't you going Bill, I'm sure you need some more practice so you don't finish 4 seconds back in a 50 second course from either Dave or I.

Did you fall and hit your head...seems to me that I was less than a second behind Dave at last years Subie Challenge.

To answer your question -- no trailer/truck to get the SVreX II there and BillStock 4.0 has head gasket "issues" right now (fresher, but not rebuilt engine in the works....)
How's the playhouse going?

Okay so correction 2.5 seconds behind Ben. Don't you have enough spare parts for another engine by now? If not you need to visit my driveway!

Playhouse is done at least exterior wise.

Of course, she moved her recliner, dining room table and kitchenette in weeks ago. She currently holds daily tea parties for friends and relatives.
