Re: Every member please check in here!

Hi Kam, I take no pleasure in this, but your wheels are on backwards. If the tires are non-directional you can just switch the wheels/tires from one side to the other. If the tires are directional they need to be changed to the other side wheels. On the other hand, maybe you like them like that. Take care, BOBB

Re: Every member please check in here!

HAHA
When my friend (who I bought it from) dropped the car off in the middle of a snow storm in late Dec the car had 18" chrome wheels with summers on them. Well, on the way to my house he got a flat, and we went to pick up the stockers from his garage. Let's just say I just slapped them on, not giving it any real thought. I did later notice all of the pics online have the wheels in the other direction. I just never got motivated enought to swap them in the sub 20F temps
Does it make a difference which way they rotate?
(the tires are bi-directional BTW)

Hi Kam, Yah there is a "cooling" effect, but with the temps we have been having in the midwest this year I don't think its a problem. Take care, BOBB

Re: Every member please check in here!

I'm glad somebody pointed out the wheels thing. I was gonna, but I was worried about scaring the fella away. I can only imagine what it would be like if the reply to my first message had been that my wheels were on backwards! In all seriousness, Bobb, it was well worded, and non-scary, I'm sure.

My wife saw those pics, and just said, "something about that car just looks wrong." Hahaha.

Hey all! Noob poster and SVX owner, though I'm no stranger to Subarus. I've owned an 85 GL sedan, 85 GL wagon, 93 Legacy Sport and a 2000 Legacy GT. I'm currently using my parents 94 Loyale as a temporary DD until I pick up my SVX. I've always wanted one and I cant wait to get my hands on this car!! 92 SVX LS-L, Ebony Pearl, no mods that I've found yet. Pics up when I get her home

Re: Every member please check in here!

Hi there everyone. I'm a new member, having owned a 92 LSL since 2003, bought it from my dad, the original owner. Several times, this forum has made it possible for me to diagnose problems that stumped the pros. Many thanks to some very smart people who understand what a terrific car the SVX is.

Re: Every member please check in here!

Allow me to re-introduce myself!

My name is Mike, and I was a former administrator on this forum. I resigned due to some controversy about 3 years ago, which I believe is now cleared up.

I live in Northwestern Pennsylvania, and have owned several svx's over the years. Now, hopefully, I have my "forever" SVX. It's a 1992 Pearlie with about 40,000 miles. I purchased it from the original owner (an elderly woman) in October, and have been trying to get it into tip-top shape. It was a nice car to start with, but I won't be finished until it's perfect. I had OT go over the car and do some much needed mechanical work, and now it's in the body shop being repainted. (properly)

Below is a picture of my SVX when I bought it, and also one in its current state.
