Air con high pressure port thread size.
As the title suggests I need to know the thread size of the high pressure side port to enable me to buy the correct adapter.
My port is on the receiver and is smaller than the low pressure port. I have read a few threads where people have bought adapter kits that have the correct one but in the UK I don't have that luxury as our parts shops are crap. None of the threads I found list the size. I need to use this port as the air con man is doing a proper discharge, vacuum test and charge with R12 replacement (r437a I think). Please no comments about switching to 134a as I have lines, compressor, dryer and condenser to do this but the high pressure port on that dryer is the same size. Ta Jan |

Re: Air con high pressure port thread size.
Well I managed to buy an adapter kit with several different sizes and one of the fit.
So the air con guy put a vacuum on the system that held for 30 mins. Then vacced out some more to remove any moisture. Added some oil and dye and charged the system. Put 200g of gas in and ram the compressor for 5 mins and no leaks. Then put the rest of the gas in to a total of 560g iirc and all good. I now have ice cold air con 😎 |

Re: Air con high pressure port thread size.
Sorry no one here knew the info you needed but glad to hear cool air reigns again !! Here in the mountains of west NC, the a/c is more needed for the humid rain storms when the windshield (windscreen) fogs up.

Re: Air con high pressure port thread size.
Thanks for the reply fasteract.
Yeah the UK is not known for its blistering heat but with so much glass its nice to be able to cool the cabin quick if parked up in the sun for a while. The weather here is very wet at the mo so I am benefiting from the dehumidifying action. |
