I am thinking of buying a 2010 outback, but am concerned about the head gasket problems on the early 2.5 engines. Can someone shed some light on the newer 2.5 engines. (do they still have hg problems)

The later SOHC 2.5L engines did not have the DOHC 2.5 head gasket problems. They have tank-like reliability.

The head gasket issues are ancient history. It was long before 2010 that they were resolved.
