Re: FS: 2003 Subaru Outback

Wow, lots of scratches everywhere. Id say your better off parting out if you want the most out of it. More likely under $2k to buy in current condition and mileage. If it was the LLBEAN 6 cyl. it would be a great buy. Good luck with the sale.

It's not mine. Belongs to a friend as I mentioned in the ad. They are not car people and can't part out the car. The car is listed as OBO. It could be a beater car easily or for a parts car. Any reasonable offers will be seriously considered. They need what they can get to help pay off the replacement car.

Part out what. The only usable stuff are the seats. And they are cloth . Even the roof rack didn't make the cut.

This clearly has to be the dumbest comment yet...
It's an EJ25, from the era of Subaru coming out with the coolant conditioner junk and it has fresh HG. The engine could be worth $1000 if you find the right person/shop to buy it.
Seats, modules, sensors, wheels/tires, doors, mechanicals, tons of other miscellaneous stuff is still able to be sold. Scrapes on rust free body parts on a Subaru won't impact the ability for them to be sold since they have to be prepped to be painted in most cases to match the new car anyway.

All that being said, IMHO it's about a $1000-1500 car at this point. Fixing it, even with proper connections and using mostly used parts will take $1000-1500. And bottom line, it is a base outback. As Dan said, a limited, or EZ30 version and the $3000 might be in the ballpark. Just so your friends know they might be aiming a bit high. I understand they probably just spent about $1500 on the engine work a couple years back, but it is what it is. The car fixed up is worth about $4000.

Fixed price. I did explain but never hurts to ask. Also thank you saying what I was going to say.

Re: FS: 2003 Subaru Outback

Not sure if they're in your neck of the woods, but I had the windshield in my '04 Legacy (same body style) replaced for $165 plus tax by a place called Advantage Auto Glass. They came to my house and did it too.
