Re: Reading area

If that red 96 is the one I think it is, its a piece of crap. Brakes are shot all around, knock sensors are shot and throwing codes, 3rd brake light was out, etc. tranny didnt shift right either when I test drove it (looked at buying it prior to the one I have). Interior was also musty and starting to mold in the floor behind the drivers seat. Sunroof wouldnt open, windows didnt work right, electrical issues out the wazoo...He also wanted way to much for it when I looked at it.

It was parked in the back lot of whitehall motors (iirc) when I looked at it.

Re: Reading area

The second one sounds like the perfect candidate for a 5-speed or 4.44 conversion. $2K for a 65,000 SVX.

Re: Reading area

There are some nice ones out there. CAUTION : check them out good there are a few diamonds in the ruff selling for $2,000 range and also some lemons selling in the $4,000 . Tread softly. As I told one viewer looking to get into an SVX I would drive 300 extra miles if I knew it was a good one. When you find the right one you will know. Ask the guys on here for tips. As the RED one I found it looked good but someone had already looked at it and said it had a lot of hidden flaws. GOOD LUCK in your search.

Yup. When I first made the decision to buy an SVX last year, I started searching mid summer and finally settled on the one I have now. With the research I did here on the forum, once I saw it was a 4.44 swapped car originally from VA and never snow driven (afaik) in NY and talked to Will, I knew it was the right one for me YMMV of course...

The red one was one of the first ones I looked at, probably back in late August early September. It may very well have been fixed since then, but it was pretty rough when I checked it out. I couldn't see spending the $3500-$4000 he was asking at the time. Not when there were better options out there for >$2000 locally.

Re: Reading area

1994 Pearl LSI (LSL?). That has got to be a rare combination.

Re: Reading area

Not all 94's were FWD, and I see leather seats and suede on the dash. I don't think they had that on the FWD models.
