Re: poor bloke had some bad luck with his ez30R
I didn't realize that the EZ30R was so problematic. There are thousands of them on the roads, since the late 90s, early 2000s... I would have figured an unreliable engine would have a bad reputation.
I certainly hope the re-designed lower engine block on the EZ36 series has eradicated whatever caused this guy's problem. And it certainly sounds as though Subaru of Australia didn't really do right by him.

Quote:
![]() neither did i . my housemates girlfriend has one and said she has never had a problem with hers . maybe it is his driving style that causes the catastrophic deterioration of both said engines and subaru didn't want to pay up for something he did (twice) or maybe he tried to turbo it and he ran it to lean and it went kapow |

Re: poor bloke had some bad luck with his ez30R
the engine is not the problem here....it is the owner. I know a guy with that engine and he is anything but nice to it and it runs great!

Re: poor bloke had some bad luck with his ez30R
some funny questions and answers to the ad
Q: Good one! A: Yes, its a ripper of an anchor! Just don't try and get 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea out of it, apparently its not warranted for anywhere near that. Q: Hey what year is it out of? Does it have 3 exhaust ports per head or one? What was you after for a buy it now price I'm keen but if the bottom end is as bad as it seems would only be good for parts Thanks ben A: Hi Ben, thanks for your interest in my anchor. It's a 2005 (February) build. In marine speak "port" is red and on the left, or a place where ships dock. I think a buy it know price equal to a lodging fee at Fair Trading NSW would suffice.... Q: I'm currently using an EJ253 as a boat anchor, and am concerned about what effect the extra weight of the EZ30R compared to my EJ253 will have on my anchor handling. Is the extra understeer of the EJ30R noticeable in extreme anchor handling situations? A: Extreme anchoring hey? I see your EJ253 and raise you my EZ30R as a worthy adversary! Understeer is indeed a characteristic of the EZ30R Craig, I dare say more so than your current anchor (I do admire your taste in anchors). I'm intrigued by the possibility of this hybrid "EJ30R" you mention though - is it perhaps the next generation Subaru prototype anchor? "All 4 the Diver" perhaps? |
