Re: Shaved door handles
Does your shop spray in a booth?

Re: Shaved door handles
Unfortunately not the current one, we are in the process of finding a bigger place that will allow us to have a full booth, hopefully heated. Right now a good shop cleaning and some plastic sheets are sufficient. We've done plenty this way and don't get any more trash in the paint than a shop with a booth does. The biggest offender of paint contamination is really the car itself, since stuff likes to hide in the door gaps and cowls, despite repeated blasts of 180psi air, but will fly right out with one pass of the HVLP gun.
The main difference between having a true booth and not is what you do after the car is sprayed. We have no choice but to leave as soon as possible, with a booth the car can dry while we work on something else. Last edited by Elliott; 04-01-2010 at 02:34 AM. |
