Re: Picking up SVX, may need phone #'s in case of breakdown

Alright, everything is set. I'm planning on meeting up with Eric in VA for a SVX junkyard run on Friday. Huck, I may still make it to take you up on getting some dinner and a run in frankenwedge Thursday. I'll give you a call sometime tomorrow Huck and give you a heads up on what I'm thinking....

Re: Picking up SVX, may need phone #'s in case of breakdown

Made my flights just fine. The first one was from Milwaukee to Memphis and we had a tailwind so we ended up 25 minutes early which meant I had to wait that much longer to pick up the flight from Memphis to Pensacola. Was a nice trip though.

One good thing, the wheel bearing isn't bad enough to demand immediate replacement so I'm going to be resting up a couple hours and then hitting the beach. It's a balmy 85 degrees here, much better than the 40 degree weather I left in Wisconsin.

Can't wait to see everyone at the Carve.

1 thing I must say, this car is in extremely rough shape visually. I'll get pics up tomorrow, but the engine and transmission are both strong.

In front of the Stonewall Jackson Dam and lake somewhere in VA? I think.

Made it home with a slight hiccup. A cam sensor failed after I got to OT's. Showed up symptoms when cold on Saturday, and was completely done on Sunday. Swapped it out for one he had, now need to swap one out of the pearlie that is currently sitting, and send the good low mileage back to Tom. Thanks again OT
There, already resized and put in red so you don't need to edit my post.

Also, the a/c worked fine until I got to OT's. ( I actually already knew it had a leak in the expansion valve as I sent a replacement to him quite a few months back, but he had it charged up and had held pressure so he didn't bother replacing it as it is a huge PITA.

The pumpkin carve was a lot of fun and good to see everyone that was there.
Also, thanks to everyone who was more than willing to help out and change the hub at OT's Saturday night That was definitely a fun and interesting time
Got together in Indianapolis for breakfast with a few fellow SVX owners before dodging tornadoes and dealing with 50 mph straight line winds and gusts up to 70 mph the whole way from Indy to Rockford where I spent a few days junkyard hunting and doing other random car related stuff.

Over the whole trip, I averaged 25 mpg with pure highway runs getting 27 mpg with the a/c on. Also had complete WRX driveline including hubs and axles (thanks Rebecca) loaded in for the trip from OT's.

will get more pics up tomorrow... but it's pretty trashed... been Maaco'd twice, leather is shredded, list goes on. Mechanically, its great other than the transfer clutch being bad in it. T-belt, water pump, thermostat and idlers were all replaced in the last year, new MAF, TCU and windshield,
