New brakes and rotor rubbing HOTT
Hi, I just put new 'centric' brand brakes and rotors all the way around. Everything fit well until I got to the Front Right. The caliper didnt want to fit back on the mounting pin..it was less than 1/4 inch off of lining up. With a little wiggling/time I got things to fit. Then I took it for a drive. I could hear them hissing but assumed that they were seating. When i got home i saw that the front right had been rubbing hard...prolly would have caught fire after long enough...im worried. I hope that nothing is bent. If anyone has any ideas feel free to send them my way. Im Slippery Rock local so anyone can feel free to stop by. Once again, thanks a lot for everyone's help!

Re: New brakes and rotor rubbing HOTT
Did the caliper slides move freely? Particularly the lower one? It should slide in and out easily. If it's stuck it will jam the pads against the rotor.

Re: New brakes and rotor rubbing HOTT
+1 Buy a new caliper if you care about your car. Probably can be fixed but you would be better off getting a new or remanufactured caliper. edit: Get a pair, do both fronts.

Re: New brakes and rotor rubbing HOTT
+1 Autozone or Advance auto sell loaded front calipers for about $100 net after you return your core calipers. Then you'll still have an extra set of pads that you'll probably never use
