New to my fleet

Just got another 92.. Bad trans.. Imagine that!!!.. I think its the front dif though. Not sure.. What is a major tell tail sign if it is? Makes a loud clunking sound when put in D or R when it rolls just a couple of feet.. Anyhow.. Its in pretty good shape.. Best part.. 88K miles..

Sounds about right, good score. Looks just like mine.... I think the Ebony looks best without the spoiler, and keeps the car all one color.

How does the spoiler change it from all one color?

Worded it wrong lol, I like the way ebony matches the roof, window pillars, rubber trim etc instead of black on white/silver etc keeping it sleek. In addition, I like the appearance of the car without the spoiler.

This is a matter of personal taste of course, and I would have bought my car anyways regardless of the color scheme

It very well could be the trans/diff.... one other thing to look into would be the U-joint at the rear end of the driveshaft. A couple years back I had loud clunking sounds in D and R at low speeds and it got porgressively worse over time.

I assumed it was the trans because that's all we ever hear about. When it completely failed on me one day and I had it towed to the shop (yeah I was dumb and didn't have it looked at sooner) I thought for sure it would be major trans replacement time. $200 for labor + used driveshaft (can't replace just the U-joint on the SVX) and back on the road.

Thanks guys... Mind you.. Car has been sitting in the sun for 3 years.. Title issued on 7/25/05 with 87,800 miles.. Car currently has 88,139.. Car sure didn't get much of a break in from the previous owner. lol.. Anyhow.. It is definitely the front dif.. I was hoping that it was a bad axle.. Replaced it, since the boot was all torn up anyway.. Car still makes the loud thump.. Now I'm just trying to figure out what route to take..Considering the color of the trans fluid.. Looks like the trans in the car now has had some work to it recently.. It is nice and pink.. Since my pearl had a bad trans but a good front dif.. I was thinking of putting that dif on this one.. Considering the trans on the pearl had 72K miles when it was removed. Or.. just go with a 4.44 auto or a 5sp.. Really haven't done much research on the manaul trans and what fits or doesn't.. Anyhow.. I guess I will be keeping my eyes open on ebay and craigslist for a trans.. Plus.. I really need a rear spoiler.. Car looks funky to me without one. For now.. I guess its time to get the buffer out and make the car look good and smell good..

+1 on the buffer, my parts car sufferd from being coverd with a tarp for some time befor coming to my yard, after some elbow grease and compound it was amazing the transformation in apperance. So now it will look good standing still, then when a tranny shows up it'll look good going anywhere!! Now where are those cheap trannys and diffs??
4.11 or 4.44...............G

4.44

The 4.11's will kill themselves just as fast as the stock tranny.
