Svx Gurus Please Help!!!
I bought a beautiful blue 92 lsi back in april and my tranny just went on me about a month ago - choked. I can't stand driving an auto anyway, I drive way too hard to depend on some computer to do the shifting for me so Im swaping for a 5 speed. Ive already found an awesome mechanic who's eager to get his hands dirty and make use of his new shop! What I need to know is what is necessary for the swap. What tranny/pedals from which vehicle, do i need to replace the rear diff? What about changing the gear ratio? Is it necessary/recomended? Throw me some details! What clutch is recomended? Most importantly where can I find all the parts I need? I live in the outskirts of Vancouver in British Columbia Canada. Is there anyone on here from my area? Im also tryng to figure out how much all the parts will cost? Im glad to see such an amazing amount of support on this website, your help is greatly appriciated, thanks!!

Re: Svx Gurus Please Help!!!
Have you checked the How-To section?
Nobody seems to look there anymore. Maybe we need a more obvious name for it? Huck's How To fit a 5-speed Joe

Re: Svx Gurus Please Help!!!
What I really want to know is how this site has been around for so many years and just now someone used "SVX" as their screen name.

Give Tomsvx a shout, his kit is what you and your mechanic will want unless you are good at fabrication work but even if you are or your mechanic is the kit is priced very close to what you'd pay in the end with any 1 off attempt at the same thing. Added benefit is that you know what you're getting and know that it has been tried and tested by many!

Re: Svx Gurus Please Help!!!
Ben is correct SVX. Call the guys is what you should do. Huck's write-up gives a good idea what is involved so you will know what you are dealing with.
Being able to buy the full kit, and with the knowledge supplied to overcome electronic and other obstacles, that will save you bucks. Joe
