'92 for sale, 500 OBO
As some of you may remember, I ended up with a horrible lemon of an SVX that despite a huge influx of time and money, chewed its engine to bits by breaking the one moving part that I hadn't refreshed in my rebuilding.
Skinny version: State SVX is in: Arizona Year: 1992 Model: LS-L, full leather and suede VIN: Don't recall off of the top of my head. Paint Color: Forest Green Interior Color: Charcoal with faux wood in places Miles: ~130k Location: Casa Grande Options: Everything available with the one exception of the engine block heater. AWD or FWD: AWD Modifications: No outside modding Major service: Full gasket replacement for the entire block, head, timing belt, water pump, radiator, windshield, wheel bearings, tranny flush, AC conversion and repair, and new mousebelt, at ~125k. Engine Condition: Removed: spun connecting rod bearing and chewed up the block. Maintenance Records: None available Transmission condition: Pristine. Shifted perfectly, smoothly, with not a hiccup or hesitation. Glass condition: perfect. Not a chip or scratch anywhere Type of tire and remaining tread: Generic all season, tread is good, but the car has been sitting. Tires still hold air, but I would replace them. Type of wheels: Stars replaced with enkei wheels. Interior condition: good, but needs the dashboard put back in place Body condition: Great. A few typical spots here and there of chips or dings, but nothing worth mentioning. Paint is faded on the trunk lid and roof, however. Known defects or problems: Obviously no engine or wiring harness: only known problems with it currently are the seat and steering wheel not being in the best of conditions, and the sunvisors do that "hang" thing that they all do. Asking price: 500 or less! And i do mean less. Comments about the car: I have been storing it at a shop waiting for the time when I could finish setting up the ford 5.0 I had purchased to replace the 3.3, but the owners are changing location and no longer have the room to store it, and my one slot for storage is currently being filled by my race car. As a result, I've got about a week left before it needs to be gone (he didn't give me hardly any time to find it a good home) and my current only offer is from an auto recycling plant for $92... I desperately would like the car to go to someone who wants to fix it, or at least part it out. It's located in Casa Grande, AZ, and is not running. The engine and wiring harness have been removed and sold. The only other parts that I took off and sold to a local SVX owner were the spare jack, tool kit, OE wheels (it currently is on some crappy enkei wheels and reasonable tires) and driver's side window regulator. color is the dark forest green. If you needed a replacement panel, they're all still in good shape. The worst any of them might need is a couple dings popped via PDR (nothing bigger than a quarter) The body is straight, no rust. Window regulators all work, the glass is perfect (including a new front windscreen, which cost me over a grand) The mousebelts are perfect, the driver's side one is brand new. Aside from the steering wheel and driver's side seat, the leather and suede is all fantastic. The dashboard is not in place, as the wiring harness removal required that I take it off. But it is there, it's in great shape, and all the hardware is there, including the screws, nuts, and bolts. The transmission functioned perfectly when the car was still running. All it needs, quite literally, is a new engine and wiring harness, and it would be perfect. I seriously don't want to get rid of it, but simply won't have the space. I was actually ready to fabricate up the 5.0 engine mounts for the bay, put in the 5 speed, and get a custom driveshaft made. Please, someone come take it off my hands for 500 or less. I'm serious, that $500 isn't even close to firm. offer more than the recycler and you can have it. I really don't want to send one of these great cars off to its demise. If you can't tow it yourself, the shop owners would be willing to tow it to tucson or phoenix for a reasonable amount. pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Aside from the driver's seat, the leather is in fantastic shape. No cracks or tears. ![]() ![]() ![]() The suede is in good nick too. ![]() Last edited by Sr240sx; 06-13-2009 at 04:23 AM. |

Re: '92 for sale, 500 OBO
i do want this but would have to have it shipped. I have a junkyard with the low mileage good engine (56k miles on it)
Do you have any contacts for shipping other than the normal route of DAS which is too pricey for a car not running.

even still, I'd take $200 for it, and $700 for a car that's pretty much complete minus the engine and wiring harness in that shape is still a good deal |
