VIN: jf1 cx3558 rh102455

Paint Color: blue

Interior Color: gray leather

Miles: 143, 397 on car 124,127 on engine

Location: Des moines, IA

Options: stock, aftermarket cd/radio/ ipod connector

AWD or FWD: AWD

Modifications: none

Major service: engine replace at 95,370 ( water pump locked up and destroyed the engine) new engine had 76100 on it. New a/c line and recharge, new camshaft sensor, new battery, new fuel filter, new MAF

Engine Condition: daily driver until recently (please see MAF problem under technical q and a for details

Maintenance Records: All receipts for work available

Transmission condition: good

Glass condition: good

Type of tire and remaining tread: tread good

Type of wheels: stock

Interior condition: leather is good condition. passenger sun visor is gone (not working)

Body condition: fair, small chip in hood, two chips in spoiler paint, dent in driver side under tail light

Known defects or problems: having an electrical problem at the moment, please see MAF problem post under technical q and a for details. Only issue I know of.

Comments about the car: has been a good daily driver, reliable until recently. I think it would still be a great car but I cannot figure out the problem as yet. Seems like the problem got worse with the new MAF sensor. Not sure if I got a bad sensor. Regardless, wife says she has had enough, car has to go.

Asking price: make me an offer

Re: 1994 blue SVX

Oh damn.

Why does this happen to me. Right color, right options, right year, probably a good deal, and RIGHT IN MY BACK YARD. within 50 miles.

and me, here with not a lot of spare money.

Does it have one or two airbags, or automatic seat belts?

A Thousand bucks? would that do it? I have a motorcycle (89 Hawk GT 650) that I am trying to sell... maybe some sort of a trade?

See, now that is right for me, too, then.

This car is so right, I am feeling bad for IowaSVX, having to sell the car for an electrical issue.

Re: 1994 blue SVX

As much as I would like to trade for a bike my wife probably would view that as going in the wrong direction.

I am going to return the remanufactured MAF I installed and have them send me another one. Seriously car didn't want to start when the new sensor went in. It then ran like a dream for 1 1/2 days and then crapped out again. Got to be a bad sensor.

If I can get this thing running I would prefer to sell it running (obviously) and since I have already plunked down the money for the MAF and it is warrantied I am not out anything having them exchange it.

If the new MAF solves the issues, looking at 2000-2500 for the car. If the new MAF doesn't help 1000 will take it.

Re: 1994 blue SVX

I am not sure which I should root for... a running car, or a car that will be easier for me to afford.

Anybody want an 89 Honda Hawk GT 650? I'm trying to sell that for $~2k... It would help get me a blue SVX!!

BTW, any pics of the car in question?

Are you still selling it even though you got it working?

Re: 1994 blue SVX

Good to hear it is running well.

I wish my Legacy were fairing as well. The clutch is starting to slip at speed, so that might become a big expense soon.

Still monitoring this, though.

Re: 1994 blue SVX

I am half tempted to offer you a trade, SVX and cash for my Stage 2 Legacy GT... the hit for 60k service came last week, and now with the clutch... but the car is so nice when it is up and going...

Re: 1994 blue SVX

Car is completely repaired now. New MAF sensor was the problem. Is running smoother and stronger than ever. No stalling.

I have receipts for all significant repair work. In fact this car was bought by the in-laws new. I have records for every drop of gas for roughly the first 8-10 years put in this car.

Kelly blue book is 3200-3600. Asking 3400 now that car is back in original condition. Good tires, no rust.

I cannot shrink the photos enough to attach them here. PM me if you want me to email the photos to you.
