*Refurbed even....
So CorSVXette was kind enough to send me an alarm keyfob (quite a while back, thanks!) that was a'bit beaten up with no front label. Nothing like a little Faux Stone to accompany some Faux Suede ![]() ![]() ![]() Laminated the label for what it's worth. Paint wasn't perfect but the best I could do considering how thick the it is. I was going to experiment with the leather paint but decided to try this instead.... I figured a few clear coats would help the beating on the keychain but so far that hasn't proven very effective with the paint slowly chipping in places after about a month.... (I have no idea why I chose a power button for the alarm button when doing the label... but it's a done deal so no going back now ![]()

Nissan key? I took a few things apart in the SVX and saw Nissan wiring everywhere. Didn't know they shared the same base key design too, lol.

Yeah they do. I have a 91 nissan 240sx that I can use my SVX key to start. Good thing too, because that 240 key is almost snapped in half

The Keyfob looks amazing. I really don't like the ones that Subaru used for the SVX cause it looks prehistoric. But what was done here looks really nice!

I was looking for this for like 2 hours! I remembered seeing it a long time ago but couldn't remember who posted it. My fob has a big hole in it so I want to do something like this..
I litterally had to search the forums, with no luck, I turned to ![]() Nice job subix but how about a detailed write up and list of materials? If you recall them.

Interesting timing, that this got dug out from the past just as I finished a recent project. The result wasn't as handsome as the one in the first post, but I'm happy with it.
The keyfob I got with my car was pretty beat, specfically the label which had a huge hole in it. I bought a used SVX fob on eBay, which looked okay in the pics but turned out to have the corners worn down to almost nothing; 3 of the 4 brass inserts were exposed and 2 of them spun freely in their holes. But the label was good. ![]()

I have a pair of those too, made from a well worn non-OE key that the car came with. Luckily both of the new ones I had made do work fine.
I think I may need another security fob, though... one is good, but I keep having to shuffle keychains for it, and mine has the plastic broken away from the screw thread inserts, and is missing two of the four screws. I had to put a battery in it, for it to work anyway. Anybody got a good source for a new one, or a compatible alternate one? EDIT - sorry, I didn't read far enough down the thread to see some more info. ![]()

After about 6 months, the paint on this did start chipping off pretty bad and didn't last very long. Of course, I'm pretty rough on my keys and everything that goes with it gets beat down, dropped, tossed, beat.
Shortly after the plastic piece for the button eventually snapped (due to hard pressing because the keyfob itself seemed to be having issues from time to time) and I finally went with the keyless ride job. It works well and is an ideal replacement, even if I don't care too much for either design, it works and is solid.
