Manifold paint
After much searching, I FINALLY found a manifold paint to use on our intake manifolds. It gives the same color, sheen and texture as when the car left the factory.
PLASTI-KOTE REBUILDERS CAST ALUMINUM FINISH More information on the paint can be found http://www.plastikote.com/products/S...st-Finish.html A fast-dry lacquer that resists oil, brake fluid, and gasoline and is heat resistant to 500°. Our manifolds rarely reach 200°, so its not a problem. It definitely meets the sv-xcess standards and scrutiny and can be seen at the Pumpkin Carve this weekend. I will try to post some photos, but don't think they will do it justice. I also use their Rebuilders Cast Gray 285 on my calipers and my engine cover. .

Lots of time using varying grades of wet or-dry sandpaper from 400 to 1500 grit, followed my a lot of Dremel-time with metal polishes and rouges. Took about 6 hours but from then on it is easy to keep up. I either use the Lithium Ion cordless Dremel for touch ups or I hang the corded one from my hood hook and use the 36" flex-shaft to get into small places.
They haven't been touched since before last Reading. They are going to get a lot shinier by Reading X. Not doing any more. Just enough bling to counter the other textures... .
