auto-x alignments.....
I would like to know what alignment specs people are running for racing. I would like to know the camber/caster ##'s as well as what your suspension height is. I was not able to get an alignment before the auto-x on saturday after installing my coilovers this past week. I was actually running a very small degree of positive camber in the rear. That really hurt me.
Here was what I was thinking... Get it aligned to stock specs at my daily driving height and then at the race lower it slightly giving me negative camber.... Input? Advice? P.S. looking for advice on tire options as well

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Stock specs are quite conservative, only -0.7 or so in the front. Dropping the car an inch isn't going to give you much more that that, probably not past -1.0. Most of the local Subie Auto-xers run at least -2.0 at all four corners here.
Now if you had camber plates in the front it would be a different matter.... *continues thinking about STi coilovers....*

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Bobby,
Stock camber bolts (front only ) will give you a max of ~-1.8 degrees of camber, so use all of it. You'll need to get aftermarket camber bolts for the rear (do a search for the number) and then they'll give you ~-1.5 degrees for the back. Zero degrees of toe works fine (you can play a little here, but I run 0). Stock caster works fine. -Bill p.s. yes, camber/caster plates are nice

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Can I max out my fronts on my own? If so, any tips on an easy way of doing it?

Re: auto-x alignments.....
You could get a camber guage to see what you're setting them to. Someone at Auto-x likely has one.

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Didnt make it to the alignment shop today... Spent it working the final mounting points on the sparco and wrestling with the intake....
I am about to go try to align my back end tonight. I got aftermarket camber bolts and I am just going to max it out to -2degrees. Question though, do I need two aftermarket bolts per side?

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Bobby,
Yes. One bolt a side will get you to -1.5. You might actually want to try -1.5 out first to see how you like it. -Bill

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Top bolt or bottom bolt first?

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Doesn't matter. Of course one will go nub in other nub out. Easiest way to get it to the max is to mark the bolt head with a nice white out line (easier to see then the markings on the bolt.

Re: auto-x alignments.....
If my memory is right, it's the top bolt. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Re: auto-x alignments.....
Both will work though Bill as they're the same side. Front the top is adjustable from factory.
