TC lockup
I know this doesnt really belong in this part of the message boards but since so many more people visit here than the other parts i thought maybe someone would know.
Maybe this is a stupid question but i need to ask it anyway. When my TC locks up my rpms barely drop at all. Is there any way I can fix this without putting any or a lot of money into it. Could something just need to be tightened? |

If they dropped more than a couple hundred rpm I'd be concerned. The only rpm you 'gain' or 'lose' (depending on your perspective) is from avoiding the slight amount of fluid 'slippage' normally present in a convertor. If the rest of the system is good you shouldn't have a huge loss to begin with.

Only a couple hundred?
Depending on how I'm accelerating, the RPMs will drop either about two hundred for light accel or 400 for heavy. Is that bad?

With the TC locked up, I'm at 2000rpm while going 60 and 2500 while going 75. Perhaps yours isn't locking up at all?

has it always been like that?
if it has perhaps you have a different set of differentials? TC should not lock up until approx 50mph/80kph with adequate tranny temp.

I think the rpm vs. ground speed is different in the central time zone (

Uh-oh - I hope you're not another victim of the old "legacy tranny in an svx" trick.

I don't think so. I bought my first one from the showroom floor and this one spins all four in the air, and has no binding.

I haven't let go of that possibility.
My rear end rumbles and the car shakes when I first accelerate up until about 15mph then it is smoothfrom then on when its in AWD mode, I've been running with the fwd fuse in since I got it in november. I would really love to get it fixed but I definatly can't afford it. |

numbers for Fresh Tranny
Just for reference
with less than 50 miles on what I believe to be a very good tranny rebuild 2k = 60 MPH 2.5k = 75 MPH 3k = 92MPH In two weeks I'll tell where it stops going faster Collins 92 pearly |

It's a small wonder that I can see anything at times, with my head up in a spot where the sun doesn't shine.
