Real ID...

OK, so if you don’t have it, you now get subject to pat downs and extra security at Airports and Federal buildings...

How about this from “The Hunt for Red October”:

Quote:
Borodin: Do you think they will let me live in Montana?
Capt. Ramius: I would think they'll let you live wherever you want.
Borodin: Good. Then I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman, and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me. And I will have a pick-up truck, or umm... possibly even...a recreational vehicle, and drive from state to state. Do they let you do that?
Capt. Ramius: Oh yes.
Borodin: No papers?
Capt. Ramius: No papers. State-to-state.

Real ID doesn’t exactly fit the whole “no papers” thing does it? Now… who do we sound more and more like? So when do we get this treatment at state borders? Not long after, I fear.

And another…

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

Yes!

I pat downs. I hope I get the big security guard, with the awkward smile.

Federal ID, it's the first step on the road to the North American Union. Your Federal ID, or Real ID will also open the Canadian and Mexican borders without a Passport. It's funy how we always talk about freedom unlike 20 years ago, but 20 years ago we didn't have to talk about it because we still had it.

I would just eat a lot of eggs, beans, onions, etc. and let the gas fly during my patdown Got yer WMDs right here in my a$$. If someone knows how security works there is a way around the measures, give it time and planning. Real ID , National ID just another way to take more rights from us and control the general population. Build a high fence and minefield our borders, nuke the mideast and give anyone who dont like it the finger.

The borders seem to be open already. How many illegal aliens do we have in this country?????????? 20 years ago? I don't seem to recall a huge terrorist problem in this country 20 years ago. Seems that things have changed a bit-----maybe????????? Not that I totally agree with a national ID, but we damn sure need a Social Security card that cannot be forged. Most of the illegals have a forged SS card so they can work. That needs to be fixed.

Cut spending on wasteful wars in other countries and the INS can have that funding it needs to actually PROTECT our own borders.
