Trouble starting

So I had to get a jump for the second time in a week, except when the CAA/AAA battery assist guy came, it magically started without a jump despite me having tried it 15 times before his arrival.

Anyways, he tested the battery and if I recall the numbers it showed 602/625 cold crank amps, 14v at the alternator, and 12v at the battery. He said these numbers were all well and good, especially the alternator and cold crank.

It hasn't been terribly cold here, and I park underground overnight. It seems to just be happening at random. I *have* noticed, unless it's just me getting head worms, the starter firing later than it used to when it does start - i.e. I will have cranked the key all the way to the hilt before starting up. Again, this just might be in my head.

Any ideas what it could be? Not sure I could afford an alternator or starter...should I just swallow the $100 on a new battery and hope that fixes it, despite the readings being fine?

Thanks
