Different Strokes

Different strokes for different folks---all of mine go in the garage during snows. No chance I am going to get any that muddy or possibly exposed to salty roads. We had our first snow 3 weeks ago and have a pretty good chance of snow each of the last 4 days of this week. Ford 4WD Pickup time.

had 4 inches today, and before i shoveled my walk, i climbed in my car and drove to a nice empty parking lot to slide about in

its like tradition or something

im gonna let my van handle the rest of the snow though

(i only take the svx out once every 2 weeks or so during the winter to keep things from sitting too long)

If I was trying to keep my car absolutely rust free and mint it would be stored, but it's already been through 15 winters, salt and all, so no reason not to enjoy it. Besides, the Taurus is not exactly a capable winter car. FWD, no ABS, weight distribution so bad that it will simply swing the tail out in a gently accelerating turn...I'd rather the SVX.

WOW! My '95 wagon was pretty darned stable in the white fluff. It did have ABS, but I very rarely got into it, even in in the snow. Maybe I just drive like a grandpa in the snow LOL.

Granted the Lego does MUCH better in it.

I drove down through PA on Sunday..it was the first real snow I have driven in in about 10 years, my SVX did great. Monday....back up through PA in the snow..again did great. We got snow here today in MA and I opted out of driving, rode with Evil to the grocery store in his SVX. Talk about totally different handling cars...I'd chose mine over his anyday

your right...I don't. So I will stick to MY car that grips the road rather than sliding across it.

lol I remember when I lived in Wyoming, and in Laramie they were pretty good at plowing most of the main streets, but the side streets they'd just leave so every time I'd drive on the side streets, I'd drift my turbowagon around corners (if there were no cars parked around me of course), I also did my fair share of 4WD cookies in the wal mart parking lot.. (I also discovered that the Salvation Army truck I drove wouldn't powerbrake on ice... Damn TBI 305)
