I need a new rear Main seal, but a new engine is easier.

and the Whole Car with the need of an alternator and Paint is a better deal.

Is the whole car still available?

WTH is going on here.... parting out a perfectly running car for a dead alternator. It looks like he is more determined to get rid of it by parting out rather than getting a new alternator. If thats the case for any svx, then almost 70% of the n/w members should be parting out their cars for a dent on the body, bad bearings, bad alternator, bad P/S pump, bad window switches....

This is just silly.... some one offer him a fix up/used alternator. I never heard of this kind of people... Here we are tryin to restore as many svxes as we can and here comes who wants to demolish a good one.

Pavan read my post farther up, if we get enough people to chip in, say like $25-50 each, then we can have it raffled off at reading next year

Yeh I read it, but come on it will cost him not more than $140 for a new remanufactured alternator. I can't believe that he is in such a position where he can't even invest $140 to maintian his car. Replacing is soo easy on our cars and you dont even need any mechanic. If its something like tranny, parting out is reasonably ok if he is in such a position. But, come on....
