The VTD transmission is awesome in normal operation. If the diff needs locking then the computer will lock it. I can't see any good reason to mess with that function unless you want to make the handling worse. Joe wants to make his oversteer so he can experience the fun of spinning off the road backwards like an Porsche 911 or Audi TT. ![]()

I was not aware of that. It is still rear bias, of course, but not quite the same. Joe ![]()

![]() ![]() A Porsche has the engine in the back. This engine was designed for agricultural purposes during the Second World War. Consequently this engine is happiest when heading towards the fields, where a lot of rear engined Porsches end up. ![]() ![]() On the other hand, our 3.3 is designed for spearing down the road, flat out ![]() What's wrong with that, for gosh sakes??? ![]() ![]() ![]() Joe ![]()

Hiya,
Joe, drive my type R impreza for a weekend, it should have wipers on the side windows ![]() The SVX is actually too good in normal conditions to throw around, even flicking it into corners and left foot braking, feathering the throttle only gives a little powerslide before the front end pulls you back out again, still great fun though and fantastically controllable. The JDM & Euro cars had different spring rates to the US cars which were allot softer.

I found the key to getting a SVX to slide at a 90 degree angle.
MUD! That's right, my town was bombarded with rain yesterday and on my way to work one of the small service roads had been washed out and was nothing more than a slick mud road. I tell ya, I haven't had that much fun in a long time. In other news I'm in need of a car wash.

Do you have any proof of the spring rates being different? We've speculated many times in the past that this might be the case. But we've never been able to substantiate it. It would certainly explain a few things if this is indeed the case. Phil.
