A/C Tune up

My A/C is a bit weak... the air that is coming out is pretty warm or just a tad bit cooler than outside air and does nothing but keeps the car at roughly the same temperature. Was wondering if there is a tune up out there to fix this problem. And whether it can be done without going to a shop or anything exotic.

I am a lazy forum user, after doing a few searches the only things I found were off topic from this one.

If you just need a recharge and you may be able to do it yourself.

Could you identify is your freon is R12 or R134a?

Ask Tom! SVXfiles-Tom, are all 94 SVXi including FWD using R134a?

PS: btw, there's no 94LS-L, according to ur signature.

I will be visiting Tom shortly... was going to do it then, but guess couldn't wait.

Yeah, I do think that all it needs is a recharge, will have to check on what it is once I get home from work.

btw, is yours a cable-clutch or hydraulic clutch??

by the way, have you found out your AC is R12 or R134a?

If it's a '94 it should be R134a.

6spds are hydraulic clutch only, to the best of my knowledge...

No I actually haven't had the chance to check out the A/C... washed the car and repainted the wiper arms... they had some rust spots that started to annoy me... probably will do a check on it tomorrow.

As far as driving it... sure, as long as nothing crazy is attempted, of course would have to ask Tom if having a mini meet (not like he doesn't have one everyday in his drive way

) is acceptable.

are you sure? for all '94? even the 94 LE fwd model? sometimes they might have different batch for the same year?

I can't be sure until I look at that because a friend of mine's 94 fwd is not blowing cold air. I have to look at it then I will know what he needs.

But I ain't sure if I can make it at the weekend. I usually have all schedule to work at the weekend. : ( Most mondays I'm off. But if I can't meet you and visit Tom and have a feel on ur 6spd, that's fine also. =p I have already tried a lot of different sticks.

By the way, as of right now, when are you planning to go to Tom there? If our schedules are not matched, see you next time.
