JC SPORTS torque chip

I just recieved and installed the JC Sports torque chip that they offer for 92-95 SVX's. It is like doing the crush mod all over again times 4. It adds 6% more fuel to richen up the lean mixture which really helps with the freer flowing intake and exhaust. It also eliminates the top speed limiter and the fuel cut that occurs between shifts. It is fairly simple to install, it ties into the leads running into the ECU. You have to splice the Tachometer, Coolant sensor, speed sensor, and MAF sensor wires and tap into 12vdc and a ground. The chip also has a wire to substitute to give only a 1-2% fuel increase used if everything else is still stock. I really like the way the tranny shifts now, more precise and direct, but not sudden like the resistor mod. The box costs $230 shipped, which is a hell of a deal compared to other ECU upgrades going for well over $500. I can't wait to beat on the car on the way to work tommorrow. -Greg

Greg, yes, that is a hell of a deal. I'm not that keen on modifying my car, but this might be a consideration . . . after you've done a little more "R&D." Thanks for the tip.

jc sports

i have read some much bad stuff about jc sports i dont think i would feel comfortable trying anything they put out. also i dont know how they could design a chip to take advantage of exhaust and intake mods without dynoing your car. i mean are they just making guesses on how to best take advantage of those mods? just seems kind of hokey to me. from your description it just sounds like they are increasing fuel but....i just get a bad vibe from them.
