4eat

hello, does anyone know of an internal shift kit for the 4eat, like something more than just the small car shift kit, not sure there is a need but i am going to be swapping from fwd to awd soon and have the awd tranny out of the car so i figure now would be a good time to put a shift kit in

There was a kit from B&M I think. I had the part number at one point. It required a rebuild of the trany to install it.

I installed the Transgo Kit

You can also contact TransGo Performance (626/443-7456) and ask about their "Shift Improver" kit (part # SKRE4R01A). This $50 kit has 4 plastic rings for the transmission that are designed to handle greater temperatures than stock Subaru parts.

I have experienced tranny failure (not in the svx) after installing a shift kit on used transmissions. Many trans shops will tell you the same....only install a kit on a fresh trans. Thought you might like to know.......

well basically i want my auto trans to last until i can save up for a 6spd, and that wont be that many miles because when i go to college in the fall it will be sitting at home undriven, basically it will be my car for fun and i figure a shift kit will help the rediculously slugish attempts at shifts that this tranny puts out
