keyless entry

does my car have keyless entry....i tryed what the book said....it was just for the alarms.....and what is with just on button?

Does it have keyless entry? Huh, well, do you have an SVX keyfob for it? Have you tried it? One button is all you really need. All the other keyfobs (like my wifes Focus) with a bunch of buttons on it is for tech goobers (of which I am one by the way). On SVX one button does all. Arms and locks at the same time. Disarms and unlocks at the same time. I THINK that keyless entry was standard on all SVX cars. The alarm system was an option. Anyone? Anyone...

If you have a stock system, a click of the button will do one of two things. 1) Sound a rapid succession of beeps and lock the doors without setting the alarm (or unlock the doors with the indication of the same rapid succession of beeps), or 2) Beep once which indicates it has set the alarm and locked the doors (or beep twice if the doors were already locked) . There is no "Set the alarm" without locking the doors function. The two things above are dependent upon the setting of the "Security Switch" -- if it is on it will Set/Lock if it is off, it will just Lock. If you have an aftermarket system, I'm sorry, I can't help you.
