1996 "Yellow Bird" SVX for sale
For sale: the mythical "yellow bird" SVX, 1996, seen around Pittsburgh's East End for the last few years. 113,000 miles. VIN JFICX8654TH100236. 3.3 liter H6.
Body is one-of-a-kind, originally red but painted white/yellow, see the attached picture taken summer of '03. The car has a right-side air scoop, and the dealer (believe it or not) installed a reprogrammed ECC that gives it an extra 15 or so hp. Full 90,000 service was performed by dealer 7/04. The transmission was replaced by Cottman in 7/04. The body was touched up and wheels repainted in 1/05. Alpine speakes installed early '05. I love this car and would keep it forever. Unfortunately for me, it started leaking oil, so I took it to the local Subaru dealer, and he tells me that there are leaks from the oil pump, both valve cover gaskets, and the tranny separator plate. I don't have the tools or skills to do this work, so the car's for sale - if you're mechanically inclined it's a great deal. $4,500 or best offer. Email jeff at touchtown.us.

When I lived up North there were few SVX's for sale, now I live in the South and there's so many to choose from. Your's would definately be my choice. Oil leaks don't scare me. NICE CAR!

You don't have a yellow SVX and neeed one for your stable. Are you sure you're not related to Jay Leno?.

I can't believe there's another yellow kind of near to my yellow one.
We're about 80miles away and 1hr + driving. Do you still love your car? If it's not too costly to fix, why don't you keep it? Either way, good luck on your decision.

two yellow birds??
Y'know, once I thought I saw another yellow SVX at the University of Pittsburgh, parked about a block from mine near the Cathedral of Learning. But I'd just climbed all those steps and thought maybe I was seeing double.
As far as why I'm selling: I love the car - it's my second SVX and I truly believe it's the best car of its type ever made - but at this point, after 8 years and 113,000 miles, it's starting to need more mechanical attention than what I can give it. So I figure I should find an SVX lover with a good set of tools, or a neighbor with a good set of tools, to adopt it.

Below is my yellow ride.
I like my color combo better. You sure you saw another yellow one in Pitts? I have not yet driven mineto Pitts. I saw a couple, white, red, maroon ones in Pitts when I went there. That's normal if you need to put some money for your car after 8 yrs. After putting some money, it should be good enough for a while. Again, either way, good luck to both of you. If "svxsomeday" get yours, you may drop by West Virginia University if you want, we could have two yellow SVX gp pics...

Hoping to have my Uncle tote it back to Miss.
I've only ever seen one SVX running around Northern Miss and it belonged to a student at the University. I'm sure it'll turn some heads in the state. Are there any others in Mississippi? ANyone here in Mississippi?
