Porsche returns to Le Mans
Porsche announced it will be returning to Le Mans in the LMP 02 class. It already rules in GT so it will be nice to see if they can capture the podium next year. They were asked why LMP 02 and not LMP 01. It seems FIA is changing the rules in LMP 01 to favor Diesels, and Wendlin Wiedeking, the CEO of Porsche AG stated his company will NOT produce a diesel. A motor with potential in mid size cars in addition to trucks, but one that doesn't have the class or image for premier autos and sports cars.

So what? We never discussed it and I know there are some Le Mans fans out here. On a side note, I heard some intresting F1 news while watching practice in Turkey. Ferrari is getting a new driver for 2006 (Massa? I can't remember), with the hope of getting Rakkionen in red for 2007. BMW will have it's factory team ready for 2006. Michelin is in the process of sheading some teams to try and get a 50/50 split with Bridgestone.

Hey, it's news to me. Sounds like the 2006 Le Mans race will be very interesting indeed!
