Svxfiles' son Nick (boxer6) has a '96 LSi with stock 16x7.5" rims running 245/45 sized tires. That's the largest I've heard of on stock rims...
Longassname has some custom 18" rims and runs 255 sized tires front and back. -Chike

That picture is a walking contradiction though - beautiful paint scheme w/ expensive wheels, and then the guy has some serious paint peeling off of his front bumper, and an exhaust pipe that looks like the cheap & heavy stuff used by backwoods muffler shops!!!

18x9s rear and 18x8s front
see my locker for red car - staggered wheels 9s rear and 8s on the front ..tyre size rear is 265/35x18 and fronts are 235/40x18, offsets 35 front and 40 rear...and before someone jumps in I had camber pins installed in the rear [to reduce rubbing]... as the rear tyres' outside wall - raised writing was just catching the rubber lip on the guard, no tyre damage as such and the lettering is still there, I can still induce a bit of rub with 4 aboard and getting into it around a corner, particularly if there's a bump in the corner..still no scoring of the tyre etc...I could not imagine 10in wide on the rear..perhaps a 50+ offset ...not sure on the maths for that, but my wheel/tyre combo was the largest we could do, and in Oz I only had 2 wheel style options [for a staggered set] @ reasonable $s
see my locker also for my green car 18x7.5 all round with 235/40x18s all round ..offset 48 both ends David

wide tyres
Chiketkd
yeah..thanks..I put a lot of effort in trying to get the widest combo on her, i went 18s on my green car first and then went all out on my red car...with the stainless steel lip on the rims...and the wider wheel size they certainly set off the shape of the car, in motion it looks like it squats on the road and the fronts with that offset and 8s continue the line of the front fender crease out and to the ground, and the 9s on the back start to fill the push out of the rear fender nicely...chunky and tuff !! dave

I've got 235/45-17s, but it looks like they're rubbing in the back. The wheels are damn nice, but the offset seems to be insufficient. They're sticking out and rubbing the inside of the fender whenever you shift weight to the rear. 40mm offset, I believe.

yup you need 48-53mm offset.
