Driverside window problem
The wire that pulls my window down has come completely loose. Anybody know how to get that back in the motor?

That happened to mine after I screwed with it a lot trying to fix that plastic piece.
FATS volunteered to fix it while doing my power relay. Altogether ran me $300.

Oh man. I can tell you that I have completely reassembled my passenger's side window cable thingy twice because of that exact same problem. I can also tell you it is the most difficult thing in the world to do. I will try to explain what I did roughly.
This second time I took out the motor/reel with the cable (don't break the plastic thing that connects the cable to the window). I also marked all the screws and pulley locations on that plastic door cover (if you still have it) and put it up on the wall in my house. I took off the cover to the reel so I could get at the cable easier. I know this sounds crazy, but then I duct taped the motor/reel to the plastic on the wall and made a sort of model of the inside of my door. Then I used that to rewrap the cable onto the reel how it should be, using plenty of duct tape to hold the cable in place so it wouldn't unwind. Once I got it just right, I took it off the wall and put it back in the car. Make sure to get the plastic guide thingies back in place and make sure the cable is around both pulleys. It's a pain to get it back on the pulleys so you may have to use muscle and pliars. Leave the duct tape on until it's all back into place so it doesn't unwind. In the end I when I tried to get the little pieces of tape out they were hard to get to and they got stuck in places I couldn't get them out from so I just left them. The motor works fine ignoring little pieces of tape. Just make sure you have plenty of time and tons of patience. This is what worked for me but if you could simplify it that's great. If you have any more questions just ask and I'll try to help you. Good Luck! --Mike

Anyone know what other regulator there is besides the sleeve-lock regulator? The reason I'm asking is because I brought it to the shop today and the guy said it needs a new regulator?
