Function of inhibitor switch ?
Hi
Do someone on the net knows what is the other function of the inhibitor switch on transmision without the main task to connect or block the starting circuit depending of the position of the selector and to give information to the TCU. The function I wonder about is the N and P pos allows to start the engine but also send plus voltage to terminal c10 on the MPFI from the ignition sw. The next is P and N position connect terminal b9 and b10 on MPFI, (motor management), to earth. Are the functions to keep the idle speed of the engine constant when the seletor for instanse is pulled from N to D or to 3, 2,1 ? The reason to question is I donīt know what to with thoes cords when I change to a 5 speed transmition.

Nothing is done. That switch gets removed. You end up fooling the ECU that it's in gear all the time except for when the clutch is depressed completely.
The most fun to wire up is the cruise control. I cut 1 wire going to the brake pedal switch (that shuts off cruise then the pedal is pressed). I then wired the switch from the clutch to those wires as well as the other plug from the tranny (that indicates 5th gear). Cruise shuts off now by pressing either brake or clutch or by pulling the shifter out of 5th.
