Fools

My wife sometimes says "He suffers fools lightly" when describing me to others. This means that like EC, when someone has diarhea(sp?) of the mouth (or fingers) and goes on about something they know little or nothing about, I tend to tell them my opinion of them. I have been at both sites, and read a lot of stupid poop. More so over there than here. Thank God most of those guys don't come here. Ignorance can be alleviated by taking the cotton out of ones ears and putting it in the mouth. Or, as another wise guy once told me, You have two ears and one mouth. There's a reason for that, you should listen twice as much as you speak. Another wise guy told me that when I hear the A$$hole alarm going off in my head, to double check, it could be me. After receiving my meager degree from a tech school recently at the age of 42, I came to realize that education is wasted on youth. MOSTLY!!!!! Not all youngsters are a waste of time, but, as another wise guy told me when I was young "Old we get too soon, smart we get too late." He also told me that if I wanted to learn something, to listen closely to the grouchiest old fart I would be working with, because the odds are that he knows what he's doing. The best thing I have learned is that if I keep my mouth shut and listen, ALL the questions I have will be answered in due time. Do I make mistakes? Sure, but I make a habit of trying to learn from the mistakes of others, so I don't have to make the same mistakes myself. So, if EC or anyone else here wants to rant, COOL. It means they have an opinion, I don't have to agree with it, but I respect them for it. It requires thought to form an opinion. And, Ryan, if you read this, please leave the BIGOTRY word out of it. It is so misused. If I don't like someone, it doesn't mean I am a bigot. I dislike all fools for what they have shown me, that they are egocentric and closeminded. I'll just stop now, because life is good.

Remember that scene in 'Independence Day' when President Pullman is standing in the back of the HMMWV, talking to a large group of pilots and finishes his speech with, 'today...we celebrate...OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY!'

And you get goose bumps and everything because it's sorta inspirational?

Yeah, that was sorta the same thing.

Good show, Mike. It was obvious you followed your own advice and considered that message thoroughly.

Can we get back to poop and questions concerning my gender now?

I'm sorry if you dislike the word. Perhaps I should have used "stereotypical"? Needless to say my point was not that he disliked me, but rather that he has grouped everyone under the age of 30 into the "stupid young teenager" category. Maybe it's just me, but I think I've done quite well with my life and my career. I'm not denying I may not have the correct answer all the time, but to say I'm lacking in intelligence, and all other people my age are as well, simply bothers me. Yes if you want to look up the word, that is bigotry.

Needless to say, I've let the comments pass. I don't want to prolong this argument any longer than it already has. I've made my point, some agree with me, others don't. This is needed in a group, or we would have no enthusiasm to our posts. Bottom line however, each person is entitled to an opinion, right or wrong, you don't disrespect them for it.

Ryan

I hate stupid "diarrhea" as much as the next person. "Going on and on about something you know nothing about" is a disservice, granted. But, when my son comes to me with misinformation, and presents it as fact, with the best of intentions, and I happen to know, for a fact, he is wrong, I don't try to debase him. I gently inform him of the mistake and point him in the right direction. So far, this has worked with five kids, the oldest, now 36 and the youngest 13 -- as well as with thirty years of teaching younger co-workers. But then, I could be wrong.

EC's advice is invaluable. His diagnoses are spot on. He is the very best "Doctor" on this network. His "bedside manner" just needs a little work.

Ranting is perfectly okay, but, when it becomes targeted or directed, the bounds are crossed. Rant 'til you're blue in the face. All I ask is that you leave personal slurs aside -- that, incidentally is not "targeted or directed" at anyone. It goes for everyone -- myself, especially.

Now, as far as young welts bragging about 900 HP SVXes, I say, they get what they deserve.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Aredub, you say your oldest is 36? Were you a child bride, or is simply the norm for Kain-tuck? Tsu

No, it's how I tell an adult who should know better.

My wife's boys were 7,8 and 11 when we were married. She was 28, I was 21. We'll be married 25 years in November.

Perhaps, (not), but my take on that post was that it was made by a power crazed egomaniac.

Oh, BTW-Neener, neener.
