*sigh*
Somebody decided that my car would make a good parking guide
Anybody got any ideas how much that might cost?

Yeeouch! I'd be out for someones blood! I guess you didn't see who did it? It doesn't look to me like there's too much deformation of the metal, so it might be fixable with body filler and some paint.

wait....is that the side that was already slighty damaged, or the other side?
Hell, if it was the other side, it just matches now but uh..Yeah. The quarters would need to be repainted, doors and possiby trunklid taken for blend.

That is the side that was already slightly damaged. However, the damage is much more profound and there is much more damage on the door (there was basically none before).
I do have the person's phone number and license plate. I also have pictures of their car with Polo Green all over the front right bumper. Their little escapade with my car left them with a fairly sized dent in their bumper and the parking lamp hanging out(I didn't know Toyota bumpers were so flimsy). My car took scrapes, theirs took dents - makes no sense to me...

Best thing would be to take it to a body shop and find out how much it would be. That way the damage could be fixed the right way. Is the pro-driver going to pay for it?

Like Earl said above.
Get an estimate, and present the other party with a request for funds. Or else contact their insurance/the police/their mother/all of the above etc. If you have evidence, don't let them away with stupidity. Joe

Sorry about your car...I know how you feel as mine was hit last Friday but no note. So I'll be getting quotes and checking with my insurance. There are more scrapes than show up in the pic.
Picture won't show up, I'll work on that!

First Estimate: $1100.
They guaranteed the paint matching.

You should be able to pop most of that out from the inside of the trunk. There will still be creases though.

Pfft..you guys got it easy...Could look like this:
On a more serious note..the crece on the black car can likely be repairs easilly. Try contacting a paintless dent repair guy...Ive seen them take out some nasty dents I bet it only costs like 100 bucks, and all youll be left with is a scratch. Sure beats the sevral grand it'd cost for a body shop to hang a new quarter panel And manarius..I with yo the best in your "getting the other guy to pay" pursuit. Theyll likely give you a hasstle, being the car was already damaged...Just consider yourelf lucky they didnt damage the other side, as that'd increase the repair bill exponentialy
