The instructions include directions on where to drill out the bottom of the housing, after cutting and removing the old piston, etc. The insert is threaded at the base and once the housing is drilled correctly will allow you to draw the insert down into the housing tube using the included allen head bolt. A rubber sleeve fits around the cut edge to prevent water intrusion. No welding required.
