Brembos on an SVX!?!?!?

Yeah, I am doing some searching on Nasioc and I am asking my Canadian 6mt connection for an extra caliper both front and rear and an extra rotor to see if the brembo are a direct bolt up. I know these brembos are not great but they are better than what we have, not to mention, if they do work that will open up our brake aftermarket 300fold. Anyway I will keep you all updated as soon as I know more

Tom

That'll be GREAT! You're right on with the expansion of our brake options. Sent a PM about your 6mt hook up.

I don't know how much a WRX brake swap would cost but for those interested in a monster upgrade with 330mm or 355mm front rotors and four-piston or six-piston Wilwood calipers front and/or 325mm rotors and four-piston calipers rear check out the SVX section in the PDF file HERE.

Of course these aren't cheap, you could probably buy a used SVX for the price of a Wilwood brake kit.

Sti brake swap can vary from $500-$700. Then add the price of rotor resurfacing or new rotors, then pads

Tom's kit is very economical. If these calipers require adaptor plates I may try to make them but I doubt it. If they don't directly fit I may scrap the idea. I am just looking to put the Maybes to rest once and for all

Tom,
understood...my guess is that the Brembo calibers will need an adapter plate

I understand that as well. I may be able to draw up a cad design and have custom ones made... but they would be one offs and nothing more. I am basically looking to see if there is a cheap and easy way out of these crappy 2/1 piston calipers we are cursed with

if it helps at all the rear calipers on the svx appear to be the exact same as the rears on my 97 AWD legacy sedan with 14" wheels. I can't remember if the brackets were different... but the calipers def look like a direct swap... if that helps at all
