trans problem
i tried searching, went through some things but didn't find anything with the same symptoms.
the car will drive in 1st and 2nd, but goes into 3rd and just revs up. not sure if it even tries to go into 4th. i just bought new fluid. i'm gonna go out and change it now. what should i look for? btw, i've only had this thing 5-6 weeks, and no signs at all of trans problems. i was beating on it last night in the mud. and i drove it home 30 minutes with no problems. temps were about 10* last night if that could make a difference. thanks for you help guys

The trans has to reach operating temp before it will "lock up"....really cold ambient temps result in it taking longer to reach operating temp. How long did you actually drive the car today?

does the fluid smell burnt and is it anything other than light red in color?

my fwd trans did this and i think it was the high clutch that was bad
