I'm confused. I have HID's in my Canadian SVX, absolutely no problem. The fog lights are the DRL's, so what's wrong with installing high and low beam HID's? And if it kills your daytime lights, who cares? Just run it anyway! My Taurus has never had daytime lights and I haven't been questioned about it in any way. I regularly see Ontario and Quebec plated vehicles without any lights during the day.
