At the end of the steering rack there is both
an inner tie rod end,
and an outer tie rod end,
four replaceable pieces in all.
If you can put on a rack again,
have a person with good eye sight
watch carefully to see where the play actually is.
Subaru has the parts to sell.
And, with a rack, they are easy to replace.
