They definitely would be, I'm using Catia (one of the main aerospace CAD programs) to make these models. However, I wouldn't recommend using these as a basis for panel fabrication. The way I'm making the model is by extracting the guide curves from the diagrams and filling in the surfaces by best guess/what looks right compared to a real car. It's basically the equivalent of a freehand sketch. Things might look right but they aren't dimensionally accurate to the real thing.

Now if I had a 3D scanner that would be a different matter... Anyone have $20-30K I can borrow?
