Re: 05 WRX STI suspension ?

Short version: It's doable, but is huge amount of work.

Long version: I borrowed the struts from a friend to measure and see what matched and what didn't. The strut lengths are close enough to equal that they can be made to work with the right length springs. The bolts holes to the knuckle are the same size and distance apart. That's about as far as the similarities go.

-The SVX knuckle is thicker than the Impreza, so you would have to grind it down to be able to fit the strut.
-The upper strut mounts are different. You will have to not only drill new holes in your SVX to accept the bolts, but the large hole in the middle will have to be widenned.
-The STi front struts do not have a bracket to accept our OEM front sway bar endlinks. You will need to either weld a bracket to the strut (struts must be completely dissassembled to do this) or weld a bracket to the control arm and use an appropriate length aftermarket endlink.

I believe it is doable, and I intend to try it at some point in the future as time and money permit, but it's a big job.
