Coolant temp sensor (CTS) is frequently associated with starting problems, and fairly easy to replace.
For the TPS, if it just can't be adjusted to work normally, then you should try a new one altogether (or a known good used one). I would also suspect the wiring where the QC was. I imagine that if the TPS wiring is messed up just right, it could have some symptoms like a bad TPS.
