Took my 92 to 145 as it was turning 145k miles...might of had a few more mph on it but I backed off. Felt pretty secure at speed.

+1 on all the timing idlers and I would change engine mounts if they are leaking or toasted. When I pulled my engine one of the mounts was rusted to frame. If u get resistance when hoisting engine...

my 92' w 275k is in the same boat.....anything below 1000 rpm and you can hear it. Above 1000 you cant hear or feel it. Im curious as to the origin, whether its a rod bearing or piston slap. I tried...

Most likely the bearing... Time for a rebuild.Only difficult part is pressing off and on bearing. I did it w huge vice and some sockets. The other gasket and o rings are pretty strait forward. I will...

my money is on the U-joints(universal joints)............I have similar shake upon acceleration. Im waiting for my harbor freight 6-ton press to arrive to replace them. There are 3 joints. PN 430-10...

OOOHHH snaaap:eek:.....Unless your engine is out or you have no floor pan in your car, I would "drop" tranny from bottom....use some PB blaster to loosen bolts on driveshaft. Shaft in back of tranny...
