Seat belt not "returning" when car is off
Hi,
just wondering if anybody ran into this before? (Thought I'd ask before I start the tracing and debugging process). It's a 1992 with automatic seat belts, they perform as expected with the car on. But turn it off, take the key out, shut the door, and nothing happens. No burnt out fuses or anything like that. I did replace the Timer Control Unit (old one was dead), which fixed a previous problem, but not sure there is anything related this. All my previous 1992s would return to the seat belt when off, I'm pretty sure this one should as well. Otherwise I'll paw over the wiring diagrams and start testing grounds, voltage, etc.. Cheers, Ian. |

.
Look at this thread. Lots of information. Pay attention to page 3 http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...matic+seatbelt And a .pdf file of the FSM showing schematics, connectors and locations http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...a176/13387.pdf And photos in alia176’s locker may help http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?alia176|13384 Hope this gives you a place to start... . |

Hi When Subaru used Passive belts in the early 90s the biggest problem was something stuck in the channel at either end ,since there are a lot rubber parts check to see if the they are clear ,of course with age you might have to change a part
