AWD Conversion

How hard would it be to convert a FWD 94 L over to AWD? I have a 92 LS-L. Can I just swap parts?

It's tough but doable with the right effort. don't forget the wiring you will need to run for the transfer clutches either. I would imagine thats not too fun, luckily we don't have to worry about it

I don't understand why you would do this. Converting a fwd to awd is fine but why use parts from a functioning awd?

It's more like a functioning AWD on it's last leg. At 230+k on it, I am not sure if it is worth restoring.

Restoring?
If it were me I'd drop the 94 engine into the 92 and swap the easy stuff around. Then go around beating the fwd with the crusty engine.

230k? pfft, put new oil in it and dont worry till 500k

I agree with Nikfu and Eric.

I would lean towards making sure the better body, interior, suspension, etc. car had the AWD.

Just my $.02.
