92 Pearly 5mt in Philly

In the next month or so I will have a pearly up for sale with a 4.11 5mt in it. The car has about 120k and the trans going in has 70k. It is out of a 99 2.5rs and it will be cable operated. I am picking up the car this weekend and I will be doing the 5mt install as I have time... Car will come with a new battery, next to new tires, aftermarket ASA wheels or stock wheels...either is 16". I can give more specs on the car after I pick it up and get into it more. Just a heads up for someone looking to buy a 5mt Looking to get $6500 but the price is negotiable

Ok, got the car and the trans. The flywheel is at the machine shop as we speak. I will be dropping off the driveshaft at another shop later today. The trans is prepped and ready to go it. The pedals are in and the cable has been run.

Tomorrow I will swap the rears around and get a 4.11 LSD rear into the SVX. After this, it will get the trans and be ready to go in less than a week. Just for anyone interested

almost done now, the trans is in and so is the 4.11 LSD rear... Unfortunately I have stumbled upon a financial conundrum and I need to unload this faster than I expected... So if you are interested, ask now because once it is done it hits Ebay. Sorry guys

I was foolin aroun on SUN while I was home in Jersey for the game... I switched the leather and the coushion from a passenger seat to the driver's seat. I will be installing this seat into the pearly when I have some time, so the driver's seat will be close to brand new

FS: 1992 Pearl LS-L Parts Car or Big Project Car

Hello everyone... the day has come for me to finally put my 92 Pearlie for sale. It has been off the road for almost a year now in need of a trans rebuild, a front suspension, and a few other things (see below).

The car is parked in Phoenixville, PA. Currently, it is in my driveway with no tags and out of date inspection. Given the state of the transmission, the car is not drivable and will need to be towed.

Here are the specifics:

The Bad:
Transmission is dead. (Confirmed by my local mechanic and local Subie dealer). The reverse, 1st, and 2nd gears seem to be working.
Front Shocks Need Replacing. While diagnosing the transmission problem, the dealership noticed the front-right strut needs replacing.
Undiagnosed power steering issue. I had the rack replaced about 18 months ago with a reman. The PS pump was replaced at the same time. The car drove fine for 3-4 months until the steering got really firm. It feels like the car has no power steering at low speeds. At high speeds, it seems fine. I never got around to diagnosing this because the tranny died.
Paint. The paint on the driver's side of the car is peeling on the door and rear fenders.
Passenger's side front window does not go down. I took the car for a quick spin around the neighborhood about 3 months ago, and the window wouldn't go down. I have already replaced the master window switch, so I doubt that is the problem. Again, this is undiagnosed.
Driver's side automatic seatbelt does not move when door is opened or closed. This seemed to be a somewhat common problem of other members. The workaround was to connect the rear window switch to the seat belt motor to drive the belt manually. I have the car wired this way presently. HOWEVER, I purchased a COMPLETE automatic seatbelt system from another member who swapped his out for manual seat belts. I will include ALL parts for the system with the car. (This includes the highly sought after Seat Belt ECU mounted in the trunk)
Please keep in mind, this car has been off the road for a year now. There could be other issues that I am not aware of. I am not looking to rip anyone off and am being as honest and up front to the best of my abilities

The Good:
I did a lot of work to the car over the period that I owned it. Here is a listing of everything that has been replaced / repaired:
Battery has been replaced
Radiator (2 yrs old)
Head Gaskets Replaced (around 90k miles)
Timing Belt Replaced (Done with head gaskets)
Spark Plugs Replaced (Done with Head Gasket)
Power Steering Rack (Replaced with Reman)
Power Steering Pump (Done with Rack)
ECUTune Stage 1 ECU Installed
New Rotors All Around (Installed in Jan '06, Trans Died In Feb '06)
New Brake Pads All Around (Installed in Jan '06, Trans Died In Feb '06)
Rear Strut Mounts Replaced
Approx 1,500 miles on brand new (4) Good Year Assurance Triple-Tread Tires

I pulled the Stebro exhaust off this car and moved it to my current '92 Claret. I have the OEM cat-back from my Claret, which I will include with the car. I will be pulling the mp3 player from the trunk, but will leave the following:
Profile Clarus 4ch Amp
Kenwood eXcelon CD Player
Infinity Reference 6 1/2 Components (Doors)
Infinity Kappa 6x9 (Rear Deck)
I will be leaving the ASA wheels on the car, but will include all 4 original OEM wheels.

The car presently has approx 118k miles on the original engine and trans. I will entertain any offer made for the sale of the whole car. I am not looking to part the car out myself.

Please respond here with any questions about the car and PM me with any offers.
This is what I was presented with when I bought the car.

Lets go down the list.

Trans- replaced with a 4.11 5mt out of a 00 RS. The throwout bearing and pilot bearing were replaced along with a flywheel resurface. The 5mt swap also includes a custom driveshaft which I had made for the car.

Power Steering. This issue was completely electrical related. It ended up being related to the ABS light that was on. There was a bad ABS fuse in the fuse box and once it was replaced, the PS works right as rain. I also flushed the PS fluid out of it and replaced it with ATF, which is what the car calls for. So in short, the PS is fixed.

The ABS light was on when I got the car... this was fixed by a new fuse as I explained above.

The seatbelt has been returned to it's stock setup and I replaced the control module which fixed the issue with the belts.

I still need to take a look at the window but that is the last thing on the list.

I am also trying to source the pearl plastic cladding I need to make this car completely clean, the paint is only a problem on the plastic.

So, thats the drill. the car is basically done so I would like to offer it up now.

I am looking to get 6500 for it when all is said and done.

Tom
