New Continental ContiExtremeContact

I got four new ones today and my car is quiet again. What I thought was a rear wheel bearing was a tire, the worse one. What I thought was front differential when slowing down was tires. Live and learn, wheel alignment and air pressure.

I agree

those are some of the smoothest, quietest riding
tires next to Michelins Ive had the pleasure of driving on.
They also stick very well and are very predictable under
very hard cornering......congrats.

How do you rate the tire compared to the Yoko db's?

which tire.....

If you are asking me, the Yoks are good.
but honestly I prefer the Contis or Michelin
still as top honors if you have the $

I mean between the Continental ContiExtremeContact and the Yokohama AVS db's

I already ordered the Yokohama AVS db S2's and they will probably be in tomorrow.

to clarify

just my opinion, I like the Yoks you chose too..
they are in the top 5 easily out of all your options
out there. I like first:
Michelin
Continentals
Goodyear F1s then
one of the better AVS Yoks for sure......
then from there they all start getting even ..
Keep in mind, I hardly ever drive in rain or snow
out here...but for smoothness, ride quaility, dry handling and some wet thats the way Id rate them after trying them all over the past 5 yrs. Tread life wasnt that important to me for the simple fact in my eyes you can your cake and eat it too.
If I got 25k miles out of any of them I would of been a happy camper because it was worth it.
I use to love Falken, and sort of still do except after weighing a tire once, it kind of ruined it for me......much heavier then all the others. Michelin was about the lightest which was a plus
in the end.

I have been looking at the Continentals and that is the next tire I put on my car. I have not had a chance to drive them yet, but I hear that they are great. The price is another plus for them. Less than the Yokos and Michelin.

I got the ContiExtremeContact for $81 each. I think they are out of production and going for the next years model.

Dave, When you get the AVS db run them at a higher pressure, 40/36 F/R and see how you like them. They will last a lot longer. There a thread on these tires and the wear.
