Re: Dash lights on, no power steering

I just recycled 2 or 3 of them about 2 months ago when I did a basement clean out. Rats!
You don't need an SVX one. Other Subies are the same, most minus the rubber insert.

Re: Dash lights on, no power steering

It sounds like a battery/electrical problem to me. The power steering is adjusted electrically according to RPM or speed depending on trim level.
I agree with the alternator diagnosis. When...

Re: Updates regarding Earl and memorial

I often wondered if all of his collection were driven. There are some beauties.

Re: Lsvx-t

On the subject of the 3.5" exhaust clearance. When my brother installed a 495 cu. in. McLaren engine in his 70 1/2 Camaro, he ovalled the tuned exhaust that he built to give a bit more ground...

Re: 2004 Baja Turbo anyone?

Wow! Turbo and manual transmission. Beautiful colour too. Not the usual silver, black or yellow. I'm sure this one will go for a lot of $$$. This would be a good sell on BaT.

Re: Japanese SVX 30th Anniversary World Meeting

SVX meets the 2000 Honda Insight. I can hear Giorgetto gagging. (unless it was his idea?)

Nice ignition board but what an amazing stove. My wife will freak out when I show her. She has mad zkilz in the kitchen.

Re: Need help on transmission diagnosis

Yes exactly. It's been doing it for a very long time. I should try adjusting it.

Re: Need help on transmission diagnosis

Wow! That's fantastic. I'm pretty sure mine is worn out. At exactly 80 kph the tranny hunts up and down between OD and drive, TC lock/unlock.. If I speed up or slow down it doesn't do it.

Re: 57K Polo on BaT

That's exactly how a car becomes a Collector Car. A few of these guys get the idea to buy one and the word gets around. Then it snowballs into "Hey, I gotta get one of those, so and so has one in his...

Re: 57K Polo on BaT

Collector car prices have gone through the roof. A BMW Z8 was a $120,000 car and now they're seeing 200K plus.
I saw a Fiat Jolly go for 130K:rolleyes: That is something I truly can't understand....

Re: 57K Polo on BaT

Isn't that amazing. They are finally being recognized. Maybe I won't need to live to 100 years old for my '97 to be worth something.

Re: New Tires

Vredesteins are excellent quality tires in my opinion. We've had a set of their Giugiaro designed winter tires on our BMW for a couple of winters. They're the nicest snow tires I've driven on.

Re: RHD Steering Rack

I would say the rebuild kit would work. All the pieces are internal, seals etc. Adapting a left hand one is not likely possible.

Re: Remember these?

I'd be interested depending on which finish is available and price.
I had to check the link to see what they were for.

Re: Slipping Transmission

Duty solenoid C in the transfer case is a likely culprit. That was was where my issue was.
If they rebuilt the tranny then the transfer case should have been part of the rebuild. For the money you...
