Speed Sensor?

The speedometer just went out last weekend, and immediately afterwards the Check Engine light came on. We had the codes dumped and it stated that the Speed Sensor is faulty.

Does anyone know of a "how to" procedure to swap out that sensor? As well, does anyone have a spare sensor for sale?

Let me know.

A day or so later, we noticed that the cruise control was also not working? Could this system be tied into the Speed Sensor?

Yes it is Brent, the No1. speed sensor is used for a number of functions. My Euro dosen't have the sensor in the front diff, its in the box, but from what I have seen, you could pull the sensor from the case and check the plastic gear that drives the sensor to see if it is damaged. Hopefully it might just be the sensor.

Harvey.

I had that happen to me as well. Fortunately I had a spare sensor and that was the problem.

On the front/passenger side of the tranny. It has a 3 wire plug.
